Tragacanth Gum

Tragacanth gum is the natural dried sap from the root of wild shrubs of the Astragalus gummifer and other species. The bushy, thorny plant grows in the Middle East.  The exudate dries in the form of ribbons or flakes and is collected by hand. It is heat treated to reduce bacteria, milled into a fine powder and blended for consistency.
